Yes, it’s that time of year again.

Where every Star Wars fanboy falls over themselves to hit you with the line “May The 4th be With You!“.

Well here you go

Fanboys – One for the Fanboys

I watched Fanboys yesterday. In short, the film is set in 1999 and about four Star Wars fanboys who do a road trip across America in order to break into George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch and steal a copy of the Phantom Menace.

Personally I enjoyed it, but it really is for fanboys. Anyone who hasn’t watched Star Wars more than 10 times and doesn’t have a very healthy interest in other Sci Fi TV and Movies (mainly Star Trek but others are covered) will be left scratching their heads to most of the references made in this movie.

There are some nice cameos from Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Ray Park, William Shatner, and Kevin Smith.

One of my personal favourite references is that the security staff at Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch are dressed as the security robots from Lucas’ THX 1138.

I liked it, anyone who isn’t a Star Wars fanboy might as well steer clear.
